Walt Disney

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois.

Disney is the creator of the world-famous cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. The small animation company started in Hollywood, California by Disney and his brother Roy, has grow into one of the world's most powerful media conglomerates.

Besides Mickey Mouse, Disney created such cartoon characters as Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto.

Winner of a record 30 Academy Awards, he created the first full-length animated feature films, beginning with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1937, and including "Pinocchio" in 1938 and "Bambi" in 1942. He also made "true-life" adventure films including "Seal Island" in 1948 and "Davy Crockett" in 1955.

He also produced the first color television series, "Disney's Wonderful World of Color" beginning in 1961.

In addition to animation and movies, Disney launched two amusement parks: Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida.

Walt Disney was a 33rd degree Freemason and lived at 1313 Anaheim Boulevard in recognition of the year (1313) within which Grand Master of the Knights Templars/Freemasons, Jacques de Molay was burned at the stake. 33rd degree is the highest degree in freemasonry.

13 and 33 are thought to be part of the symbology of freemasonry and can be viewed as a signature.

Disneyland's address is 1313 Harbor Boulevard. This address was picked by Walt, because at the time Disneyland was built, all that was in the area was orange groves.

'M' is the thirteenth letter in the alphabet, Mickey Mouse = MM = 1313.

Walt Disney burial site is at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California, at 33 Freedom Way.

Since his death in 1966 the Disney company has opened Disneyland Paris in France, and produced a new series of animated feature films. Disney recently purchased Capital Cities/ABC Television.

Disney Club 33

"New Orleans Square" with the address 33 Rue Royale in Disneyworld is the location of the super-secret "Club 33" of which membership is only granted by payment of a very high price. The Trophy Room (the original room) of Club 33 has a maximum occupancy of 33. Club 33 opened five months after Disney died, as a place to entertain and thank the park's sponsors, such as Carnation, Kodak, General Electric, and Frito-Lay. The chandelier still has a built-in hidden microphone, supposedly part of an aborted plan to provide better service. Diners could voice their wants and the eavesdropping staff would respond through a mounted moosehead on the wall. The idea was scrapped because they thought it might be an invasion of privacy.

Jim Garrison, when investigating the assassination of John F. Kennedy, arrested individuals operating out of a New Orleans apartment bearing the number 1313. JFK was assainated on 22nd November 1963. (22/11/63, 22+11=33)
